Rory: You're seriously telling me you're going to let a stupid fight get in the way of Danish Day?
Lorelai: No.
Rory: Good.
Lorelai: So go in there and order two coffees and two cherry danishes to go.
Rory: Mom-
Lorelai: What? He can't prove you're not ordering all that for yourself. Spit-spot. Mommy's right here. (Rory goes into Luke)
Rory: Hi, Luke. I'll have two coffees and two cherry danishes.
Luke: Two coffees and two cherry danishes?
Rory: Yep.
Luke: One of these is for her, isn't it?
Rory: No, I'm extra hungry today. I was debating ordering three, but I'll tell you how I feel after two.
Luke: Tell you what. I'll give you one coffee and one danish and sit down and when you finish those right where I can see you, then I'll bring you another one.
Rory: You really would just watch me sit there and eat a danish?
Luke: Cable's out. I'm starved for entertainment.
Rory: Okay, this is stupid. You know you're gonna make up anyway. And what better day than dnaish day, the happiest of all days. The day where we all sit down and say "Hey, let's forget our problems over a nice danish and coffee.
Luke: One danish, one coffee, take it or leave it.
Rory: I'll take it. I still think you're being silly.
Luke: Thank you for sharing. Come back soon. (Rory goes outside)
Lorelai: Well?
Rory: He would only sell me one. He knew one was for you.
Lorelai: Did you do the blinky thing? You always do the blinky thing when you're lying.
Rory: I didn't have to do the blinky thing. He knew you well enough that you weren't going to go all morning without your danish, and especially your coffee.
Lorelai: Okay, then give me half your danish and some coffee.
Rory: I'll give you the danish, I'm keeping the coffee.
Lorelai: What is the point of eating a danish without coffee?
Rory: The eternal question comes up again.
Lorelai: Sad danish. Lonely danish.
Rory: I'm going to school, bye.
Lorelai:(To a boy on the street) Hey, kid. Come here. I got a favor for you. (edit) Jess: Wanna play some poker? Five bucks a hand.
Luke: No.
Jess: Ten? I can't go any higher than ten.
Luke: Jess-
Jess: Okay, fifteen.
Luke: I don't want to play poker.
Jess: You sure?
Luke: Yeah.
Jess: Okie dokie. (edit) Taylor: You're a very jaded man, Luke. What happened to you as a child?
Luke: Some creepy guy in shorts and knee socks tried to sit me down under a tree and glue rocks together for two hours! (edit) Jess: You want to sleep with him (Luke)or something?
Lorelai: What?
Jess: I don't know, the whole starry-eyed you're so much better off speech. You're either really naive or you're getting some. (edit) Luke: (On the phone) Hi, Liz. Yeah, he got here fine.
Jess: Got here at ten this morning.
Luke: What? Yeah, hold on. (To Jess) Jess-
Jess: Pass.
Luke: Jess, come on.
Jess: Nope.
Luke: What am I supposed to tell her?
Jess: Tell her I gotta take another crack at that closet. I think I hung my Tool T-shirt next to my Metallica T-shirt, and they don't really get along.
Luke: You really want me to tell her that?
Jess: You think a different band combo would sell it more? (edit)

In the beginning of the episode where Lorelai and the boy scouts are waiting on line, the cash register is on the opposite side of the counter. In other episodes its on the other side. (edit) When Rory attempts to buy the two coffees and two danishes, Luke refuses to sell her more than one, which is what she says to Lorelai. However, Rory never gave any money to Luke so he actually gave her the coffee and danish for free. (edit) In the very beginning of this episode, while at Luke's, Rory is in a hurry to get to school since it is her first day. Lane also stops in on her way to school. Taylor then brings in a group of scouts for breakfast. Why would Taylor be running a scout meeting on what was obviously a school day? While it is possible that the high school started earlier than the elementary school, wouldn't the kids at least order breakfst rather than the burgers and fries that they asked for? (edit) When Rory left the house, it was daylight, when she met Jess it was night time. Although in a large city this time inconsistency is feasible, in a small town like Stars Hollow it seems improbable. (edit) At the beginning of this episode, when Lorelai helps Luke carry the food upstairs, Luke tells her that Jess's father left Liz two years ago. How can that be true when Jess doesn't recognize his dad when he shows up in a later episode? Also in the third season Luke says explicitly that Jess's dad left when Jess was a baby (he went out for diapers and never came back) (edit)

Lorelai: I think Geroge and Martha are joining us for dinner.

Geroge and Martha are the lead characters of the 1960' play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee. The play takes place in George and Martha's living room and revolves around the constant fighting between George and Martha and the mind games that they play. (edit) Luke: I got Frosted Flakes.
Jess: Wow, that's grr-eat!

This comes from the Frosted Flakes slogan, "They're more than good, they're grr-eat!" (edit) Lorelai: Grups, huh?
