This episode marks the first time that J.J's comic book character Dynoman is mentioned. In the final episode, after several rejections, he changes the gender of the character to Dyno Woman and uses Thelma as the model and it is after this that J.J. would finally sell his creation. (edit)

It's weird that Larry, who can't hear like he should, can hear people speaking at normal frequencies, but not loud noises like when Florida drops a breakable dish. (edit)
