  • When Gordon joined the cast of Sunset Beach he requested the same dressing room he used when he was on Santa Barbara. The two shows were filmed on the same lot and had the same set of dressing rooms although Santa Barbara ended 4 years before Sunset Beach began.(edit)
  • Gordon was hired to play "Patrick Baker" on The Young and the Restless for 13 weeks in 1997. Fans enjoyed the character so much that producers kept him around for a year.(edit)
  • In 1990, Gordon replaced actor Terry Lester as "Mason Capwell" on the NBC soap opera Santa Barbara, however, the switched happened mid-episode, a first for a daytime drama. Although fans were happy to see Thomson's return to television, the sudden departure of Lester caused the show's ratings to suffer for a time.(edit)
