Hold Your Horses Grey's Fans...

After the three-parter currently airing there will be a break in new episodes for at least 2 weeks during which ABC will be airing reruns during the show's Thursday and Friday timeslots.

A one and a half month break was enough but now this? How can they get us pumped up with this three-parter and then leave us hanging? I liked it better last season when they had 26 episodes to work with. I think that Grey's Anatomy should either run straight through like 24 or be given a contract for 27 episodes each season. What do you think?

  • I totally agree, but at least it will only be a two week break with reruns and not a new show in its place

  • I think they should have more new ones and less reruns. I don't want to be hanging on that long. They should put more new episodes instead of doing more reruns.

  • i wish it was like a soap opera be on everyday it would be great. new episodes and of course without all the commericals .

  • they have to break to finish filming...i don't really mind much, the show is great, and regardless I look forward to watching it when its on.

  • Crap. I've been anticipating what will happen after the three-parter ends. They should stop taking so many breaks and leaving us hanging like that

  • they only had such a big contract last year because the first 5 or 6 episodes belonged to season 1, but they decided to leave us hanging somewhere else on the show, which was the reason why we had such a long season 2. A regular season is either 22 episodes, sometimes more. In GA's case more, so IMO we should be happy with what we have.

  • I'd love a longer run of episodes! (but then, I'd want that for any show I'm really into) So 27 eps would work for me. However, this business of doling out some episodes, then a block of reruns also works, 'cause I like re-watching them, Plus: lots of new viewers (and this show is so hot, new viewers are tuning in constantly) get to catch up a little, so we have more peeps to chat with about the show, but you and I have less 'splaining to do…

  • Yeah last season was great with 27, but as it was stated below, several of those episodes belonged with season 1. They are just dragging us on to what will happen. Remember it costs a lot of money to make this show! Especially with so many big ego celebs...lol

  • I completely have issues with this because at least give us 2 months of new episodes then cut it again. I need to know that things aren't getting shaky...and I would also like for them to remain constant. It just makes logical sense to me! They are getting all of these monies from us being fans so be loyal to us!

  • I think it would be better if they played the season straight through rather than leaving us hanging.

  • I really don't want this break, mostly because I seriously want to know what's gonna happen with Addison and Alex!

  • I hate when any tv show goes on a break especailly this one! i think a continuos season would be awsome!

  • i agree i don't like when a tv show takes a break... and i want to know what is going to happen next

  • I and lots of people I know have had it with the last couple of years scheduling. I don't get it. How can you find an audience if you're not on in a continuous fashion. All TV used to be like "24", on for several months during a prime season and about the middle of spring the rerun season began. They don't take breaks with Reality Shows...it would sure be nice to have the same courtesy given to those of us who want to be loyal to these drama series but each year it is becoming extremely harder. And if you keep moving - time or days - we are less likely to look for you.

  • A single mid season break of 1-2 months must be applied to all the drama series, with either early wrap up(in april) or late start(mid october) or more episodes(27-28) per season

  • The new shows like Greys, Ugly Betty and Men in Trees are nothing but reruns all the time it seems. I used to set aside time to watch, but now they are undependable. I refuse to set aside time just to watch reruns, so bye bye for this viewer. Anything is more fun and more worth while than watching reruns. ABC Network has no respect for their viewing audience and must assume once we like a series we are hooked and will tune in for anything. Wrong. This viewer is history. New material or nothing.

  • Well wouldn't you rather that the writers have a break before May sweeps to polish off plots and scripts? Personally I don't mind waiting two weeks if it the result is better episodes.

  • Yes! I completely agree! It's like, come on already!! Do you know anything about the cancelletion rumor? I mean, I didn't believe it, but I'm not sure anymore....

  • Well, being that I am in Australia Im used to waiting for shows. But, the problem is our networks tack on their own waiting time to the original waiting time and then wonder why people lose interest in the show. I remember the good ol' days when a season ran straight through, and the writers chose the big cliffhangers, not the network. BRING BACK THE OLD DAYS I SAY!!!

  • Actually, I think Grey's signed on for an extra episode to their original 24 episode season. So we get 25 this time. That's a step closer to 27... they do have to fill like a 35 week season and it would be way expensive for them to make all 35. Plus we wouldn't have great movies with the cast in it... But I don't actually enjoy waiting for the episodes to come out.
