Guy Fieri grew up in Humboldt County, California. He started his food career at age ten selling pretzels at local community events.

After 6 years of selling pretzels he had saved enough money to go to France and study for a year. After returning, at age 17, he bypassed high school and started Junior College. He eventually enrolled at University of Nevada Las Vegas and graduated in 1990 with a degree in Hospitality Management.

In college he worked as everything from Flambé Captain to Matre'd and after graduation took a job managing a Stouffer restaurant in Long



More Beach, CA. After 3 years with Stouffers he went to work at Louise's Trattoria and became District Manager of 6 restaurants.

In 1996 Guy left Louise's to open his own restaurant with partner Steve Gruber. Johnny Garlic's opened in the fall of 1996. They soon opened a second location and then in 2003 opened Tex Wasabi's, a sushi and southern BBQ concept restaurant. Russell Ramsay's Chop House followed in 2004 and a second Tex Wasabi's opened in 2006.

But that just wasn't enough for this full-throttle chef. In 2006 he signed on for the second season of Food Network's The Next Food Network Star. Guy instantly became a fan favorite with his spicy twist on c dishes and went on to win the big prize... His own show on Food Network.

Guy's Big Bite premiered in June 2006 and is going strong as it enters its fourth season in the spring of 2008.

This larger than life character couldn't stop there and in the Spring of 2007 launched his second Food Network Show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, which has Guy driving around the country in a trick 1967 Chevy Camaro looking for the best in retro US cuisine.

Guy also co-hosted Ultimate Recipe Showdown on Food Network with Marc Summers and is currently the spokesperson for restaurant chain T.G.I.Friday's.

Guy and his wife Lori live in Northern California and have two children, Hunter and Ryder.
