Well, that was embarrassing. The sitcom debacle known as Hank has finally come to an end, and don't try and pretend like you didn't see it coming. ABC has officially canceled Hank after endless critical beatdowns and weeks of lousy ratings. Apparently the network has finally woken up and smelled the coffee.
Unlike Life on Mars, which ABC canceled last season but generously allowed to run its course, Hank is dead immediately. That means the five episodes that have aired will be the only TV blemish Hank will leave in its wake, and production on the show has already ceased. It's possible that the unaired episodes will make it to DVD, but if you are hoping for that, you need to rethink your priorities.
You see, I'm usually a little more forgiving, particularly when shows get canceled. Why, look how I handled today's other cancellation news. It's just that there's just really anything nice to say about Hank. I know, I'm acting like the sassy high school gossip who talks trash about something after it's gone, but seriously—Hank was this year's Do Not Disturb.
Don't get me wrong, I like Kelsey Grammer. And I feel horrible for the crew members who worked on the show and now risk losing their homes and having to fix their kids' crooked teeth with braces made out of old soda cans. But Hank should never have been greenlit in the first place. This is what happens when a high-profile actor is forced into a role by misguided network executives. "Well, we have Kelsey Grammer under contract and we have a script about a teenage vampire, a hunky auto mechanic, and... this one about a CEO who gets fired! Let's put him in that!"

I dvr'd this show once to see what is was about and it never kept my attention.
Kelsey is under contract? I didn't realize that, how did that happen? I mean I know the last show he did as the TV anchor (which really wasn't that bad and still felt frasier-esque in his performance) was alright. How did he end up owing ABC??? Anyway, that's a shame, I like Kelsey and i'd like to see him make it back onto TV in an actual cool role, I hope this doesn't sour him from give it to good ol' third times the charm college try.

It had a very, very low start but recently had some good episodes.
I feel bad for the crew and cast (Kelsey doesn't need the money), but that's the nature of the business. They'll move on to the next thing.

Comedy shows should be forbidden to have a laugh track! Is there anything more stupid? A tape to tell me when to laugh!!!!

I never saw more then a minute of the show. I feel bad for Kelsey Grammer, he suffered a heart attack and he had to do this garbage. Perhaps he should move away from Network television and into cable?

This was literally the worst comedy show I've ever seen. I can't even believe how awful it was. Kelsey Grammer had his day, please keep him off tv.

back to you should have never been canceled. That was a lot better than Hank. I hope Grammer gets another gig though. He's a great actor. Maybe if they ever make another X-Men sequal he could come back as beast.
Loved Kelsey on Cheers, Loved him on Frasier too. Only thing wrong with Kelsey is he's a republican. We love you Kelsey...come on over to our side. Hehehe :)

About time! Never saw the appeal of Kelsey Grammer in the first place. Was never a fan of Frasier either.
