There is a big basketball game at Jefferson High, and Potsie and Al announce the game. Ralph tells Richie some jokes on the bench. Joanie cheers with the cheerleading squad. Jefferson's leading scorer, Calby, is injured by an Oshkosh player. The game is a semi-final with the winner going to Madison to play for the championship. Richie enters the game for Calby and is told by the coach not to shoot the ball. Richie makes a last-second shot as Jefferson wins 38-37. Richie is a big hit with the girls at Arnold's. Fonzie congratulates Richie who is with Colette. Fonzie thinks Richie is getting a little carried away with the attention. Calby has a broken ankle, and the coach calls Al looking for Richie. Al tells Richie that he is starting in the championship game. Richie and Colette are about to go up to Inspiration Point when some guys from Fillmore High School have some words for him. Richie skips dinner because he is nervous. "Luscious Legs" Cunningham (Richie) gets a call from a Sheena Dubois. She wants to meet Richie at Arnold's before the big game. At Arnold's, Richie tries hitting the jukebox like Fonzie, and Sheena arrives. Sheena wants Richie to go to the movies with her. Biff, Rocky, and some other Fillmore guys show up and stop Richie from leaving for the game. At the game, the first quarter is almost finished, and Richie hasn't arrived. Back at Arnold's, Fonzie shows up and rescues Richie. Fonzie knocks down the bathroom doors, and the guys, scared, run out. Richie finally arrives and enters the game. Johnson fouls out, and Ralph enters the game (he has no uniform on under his warm-up suit because he never plays). Richie is fouled with one second left and has to make both free throws to send the game into overtime. Richie makes the first but misses the second, and Jefferson loses 47-46. Richie and Howard talk after everyone has left, and Howard offers him a Lifesaver.
