Richie, Potsie, and Ralph are in the studio audience of the television quiz show, Big Money. After a contestant loses, host Jack Whippett selects a new contestant from the draw, and it's Richie. He chooses money bag number seven, and the category is "baseball." He answers several questions correctly before time runs out for the show. He will return next week.

At Arnold's, Fonzie calls Richie into the men's room to meet a friend who could help him win on the show. Richie thinks he'll do all right on his own.

Richie ends up winning $3,200 before time runs out on his second show. Jack meets the family and gives Richie an envelope.

At Arnold's, Richie opens the envelope, and inside is the answer to the $5,000 question. Later, he asks Jack why he gave the answer. Jack claims that it's common to let certain contestants win that the audience likes.

Richie then tells Fonzie and Howard about the situation.

On the show, Richie purposely misses the $5,000 question and settles for a year's supply of toothpaste.
