Ralph and Potsie build a fence in the backyard for Spunky. They use Howard's wood that he was saving to build a work bench. Ralph and Potsie come in looking for Spunky and surmize that she has run away. Fonzie senses that something is wrong, and Ralph tells him that somebody stole his dog. Fonzie brings a drawing of Spunky down to Arnold's that he shows to a girl at a booth and then to Richie. It's a stick-figure drawing. Ralph brings an old lady's dog with brown hair to show Fonzie, and the lady comes in to reclaim her dog. Potsie and Ralph leave after vowing to find Spunky. Richie leaves after trying to comfort Fonzie. Officer Porter, a sketch artist with the police department, comes to Arnold's to make a drawing of Spunky. Fonzie describes the dog to the officer using Al's face as a reference, and the sketch turns out looking like Al. Later, Potsie and Ralph argue about whether or not to tell Fonzie the truth. Just as Ralph is about to tell him, Officer Porter brings Spunky in. He brings in the suspected theif who is a black boy named Wilbur. Fonzie and Richie talk to Wilbur, and he calls Fonzie "Clyde." Wilbur says he didn't steal Spunky but that he found her. Ralph and Potsie admit they let Spunky out of the backyard accidentally. Fonzie sends them into the ladies' room. Richie talks to Wilbur. After cooling off, Fonzie comes out and tells Richie to tell the officer that he doesn't want to press any charges against the kid. Fonzie and Wilbur talk things out, and Fonzie says he will get him a dog of his own the next day. Fonzie lets Potsie and Ralph off the hook after they promise not to lie to him again.
