Richie talks to Gloria about going to a picnic. Richie wins a date with Cindy Shea, star of the movie Calypso Beach, to the school dance. Richie offers to let Ralph take Gloria to the dance, and she becomes angry with Richie because of it. Cindy arrives with her photographer, Johnny Jordan, and some photos are taken with Richie and the family. Cindy tells Richie that she has to make several more appearances (including at a demolition derby) before she can meet Richie at the dance later that night. Richie goes to the homecomming victory dance (even though the team lost), and Cindy shows up saying that she wanted to save the best date for last. Richie gives her a corsage, Cindy makes a short speech, and they dance. Cindy tells Richie that she could use a smoke or have a drink. Fonzie gives Richie some booze in a Coke bottle, and Ralph ends up drinking from it. Richie and Cindy go back to her hotel room (room #212). Johnny (Cindy's husband) returns to the hotel room as Cindy is changing into something a little more comfortable (a sweatshirt and jeans). Richie orders a Tom Collins drink from room service but changes his mind. Cindy orders them two hot chocolates.
