Recovering drug addict Jeffrey Sebiela was named the winner of season three of Bravo's Project Runway. The Los Angeles-based designer beat out fellow finalists Uli Herzner, an East German immigrant and Miami Beach resident; Michael Knight, a designer from Atlanta; and Laura Bennett, an architect and mother of six.

Sebelia showed a collection during New york's Fashion Week in September that wowed judges host Heidi Klum and show regulars Michael Kors and Elle Magazine's Nina Garcia. His 12 outfits eschewed his normal rock-and-roll style and showed his versatility with flowing, beachy outfits in bold colors.

"You have a great style, you're a great designer and we want to see more of you," Klum told Sebelia.

Sebelia won the grand prize of $100,000 to start a clothing line, a 2007 Saturn, and a spread in Elle. Herzner was the runner-up.

Sebelia was a controversial figure in the show, his brash and unapologetic personality alienating many of the other contestants. In an episode where the task was to design clothes for the mothers of other contestants, he brought one of the mothers to tears and wouldn't apologize for it. Sebelia often spoke of his past troubles with heroin addiction.

In the run-up to the finale, Bennett accused Sebelia of getting outside help to sew some of the piping and other accents on his garments.

Season three of Project Runway scored series-high ratings for Bravo, making it the cable channel's biggest hit.

Very sad when people are awarded for offensive behavior. Sure he had talent as a designer but thats about all he had. He used offensive words to describe someones mom, total disrespect. It makes me think that Project Runway approves of such bad behavior. Sad situation.

Good choice

It so should have been Uli not Jeffrey.
Why reward nasty, rude attitude and clumsey work?
When you have polished, wearable. Fun creative deisgns.
Are we still so impressed by bad boys,we have to reward then over a stylish, personally modest person?

I was disappointed in Michael's line. He made such great clothes in the beginning, what happened? And, there is no doubt in my mind that Uli should have won. Jeffrey had some interesting pieces, but Uli's designs were gorgeous.

wrong choice

There was absolutely no fashion or designer about Jeffrey's collection or his appearance. I cannot believe that three people so respected in the fashion field could choose a winner who was never dressed like a professional nor conducted himself like one.
His collection featured a baby doll dress,, a handkerchief hem sun dress.
a navy blue granny dress he cut short and an evening dress that was ugly and did not fit his model, all of which went out in the 50's.
Uli and Laura both had elegant and fashion forward designs and they conducted themselves professionally as did Michael. I am shocked that the idea of true fashion has sunk this low. We'll see who's fashions go professional first. I'll wager it won't be Jeffrey's.

I can't believe they picked Jeffrey over Uli's beautiful collection. She was definitely robbed.

I knew he was gonna win...he shouldn't of IMO. Uli should have gotten the grand prize.

Jeffrey Should not have won. I honestly dont think he's the greatest designer. If one of the other three would have been the winner I would have had no problem but Jeffrey.......well he's Jeffrey

Blech. His fashions were hideous! And he was a jerk. It's sad when the fashion "experts" choose the crappiest collection.

are you kidding me! jeff is an effing tool, i would never be caught dead in any of the designs he made, i believe his last line was demons and like devils or some crap it was more like fugly meets hideous, ive never been more disappointed in a show, he's a jerk and he didnt deserve to win, he can't even dress himself! he's a poor excuse for a new designer move over and let someone with real talent take over cause quite honestly his whole attitude (and definately his clothes!) disgust me.

I think Jeffrey's designs looked like garbage if anyone should have it should have been Michael or Uli.
