V0315
When they were teenagers, Hercules, Iolaus and Jason banded together to kill the Ghidra, one of Hera's deadly pets. On their journey they met the beautiful young Medea, who decided to join their quest. Soon a love triangle developed in which Medea fell for Hercules while Jason was smitten with Medea. Their jealousies temporarily drove the friends apart, which was Hera's plan all along. But Medea wanted no part of Hera when the angry goddess struck down Jason. Medea healed Jason with her own powers and helped the three friends defeat the hideous, two-headed Ghidra in its lair.
Write a Recap »Hercules, Iolaus and Jason reminisce about themselves as teenagers, when they banded together to kill the fire-breathing Gidra. Along the way they meet a young girl who joins them, but she is harbouring a secret. An enjoyable Young Herc adventure... hide show
This is the second pilot for 'Young Hercules', with Ian Bohen still in the role of teenage Herc.
Although I like both episodes, I enjoyed this episode a lot more than the first Young Hercules episode, 'Regrets, I've Had A Few', and feel that this episode would have made a worthy pilot for the actual series.
Bohen, Dean O'Gorman and Chris Conrad make good teenage versions of Hercules, Iolaus and Jason respectively. Although Conrad is a little harder to judge as we don't see Jason as often in 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys', Bohen and in particular O'Gorman have got many of their older selves traits and mannerisms.
The pretty Jacinda Barret does well in the role of Medea. From the off, you have a feeling that there's more to her than meets the eye. [spoiler] And Hera is just creepy in the role of a little girl, manipulating Medea into trying to kill Hercules and co. [end of spoiler]
A very enjoyable episode, and although Ian Bohen did not continue in the role, I would quite like to see some actual 'Young Hercules' episodes if they are as good as this.
