Afterschool Specials were programs that aired in the late afternoon throughout the 1980s and were geared at children around the pre-teen age. They intended to teach the children moral lessons and covered topics such as drugs, alcohol, and sex. Dawson's Creek was a prime time drama that aired from 1998-2003.
