Hugh Laurie signed a big extension for many years. You will notice he is now listed as one of the executive producers. Robert Sean Leonard signed on for another three seasons a few months ago. This makes it highly unlikely that this is the last season for House. Perhaps you are confusing it with ER?

Hugh just signed another contract for 3 more years. His previous contract would have run out at the end of this season. He is also moving his family, except his oldest son, to LA.

People keep saying this is the last season because they are not happy with the story lines and think everyone else is as unhappy. So, they think House is going to start to plummet out of control down the ratings list.

I have to imagine that it was horrible to be here all alone while the wife and 3 kids were in London. The children were teenagers, he said, and it would have been awful to pull them out of school, away from their friends at that age.

With 4 years and being executive producer must have given Hugh enough job security to make the move.

Fans have been complaining over the last two seasons. The writers and producers may not want to go back to Season Two, but they at least have to stop the ratings from doing a free fall. Changing the days and time, competing against NCIS and its great scripts are not helping. When it is over, I hope those in charge do not look back and wonder what they have ruined.

I actually heard that it was the last season but who knows we may get more. I heard that he didin't want to leave his family so much so he was going to quit but I may be wrong, just keep your hopes up.
