What possible plots can be pursued based on the pilot? Here are a few I 'extracted' from the episode (potential spoilers): - 'Brian', who is he? what happened? We know he was supposed to meet Sam Steele at the lighthouse, but someone else showed up (Russel?) and assaulted Sam. - 'Kayla… More Rhodes', what did she see? where was she? what was she mumbling? what snapped her out of it? - The dead twin, what happened to her? who poisoned her? with what? why? - 'X', what does it mean? why do people in the town get scared when they see it? why does Tisha Steele have it on her neck? Why did Beth Steele have it in her locker? - The light house, what's the significance? - 'Brenda Rhodes', who is she? who is she seeing? what story is she trying to stick to? - 'Peter Rhodes', what is he hiding in the shack? what does he know? does he know who killed his sisters? - 'Chad Wilson', who is he? what does he know? why is he shunned? - 'Tisha Steele', the X? could she have found out that Chad was sleeping with the sisters and killed them? what does she know that she can't tell? - 'Jimmy Lee', what does he know? why is his footprint in the crime scene? A lot of stuff to go on, good pilot. What do you guys think? Have I missed any?

Personally, I think it looks pretty good, and I can't wait until we find out more information about this new ABC crime-drama pilot. It sounds really good, and could possibly fill in my open Fall spot while "24" isn't on.
ABC should have picked this show up! And should pick it up this summer or fall!
"Secrets of a Small Town"
It follows a successful reporter, Bethany Steele, who is now returning to her small town, Santa Ruiz, after a murder of a high school cheerleader and the disappearance of her identical twin sister. This town has three big families. One being the murdered and missing twins. And everyone in this town has a secret.
This show sounds like an amazing show and should have been on the tv this fall. Hopefully they will bring it on this summer or next fall. It had a full cast of amazing actors/ actresses.
Secrets of a Small Town is set in the palatial seaside community of Santa Ruiz, and follows influential cable news reporter Bethany Steele after she returns to her hometown, following a shocking murder of a high school cheerleader, and the kidnapping of her identical twin sisters. The pilot boasted an array of talented actors, including Angie Harmon, John Terry and Denise Richards, all of whom brought uniqueness and flair to their roles.
The show had strong writing, and good music which really added to the scenes. It's just a shame ABC wasn't smart enough to pick up this pilot for series order.
Santa Ruiz, a small sea-side town, is rocked when a teenage girl is found dead on a cliff-top overlooking the ocean. Her body appeared posed. The murdered girl's twin sister is also missing. TV reporter Bethany Steele is assigned the story by her fiancé/boss because she grew up in Santa Ruiz, even though she hasn't been back in years and has no desire to ever do so. He counters that since Bethany's sister Samantha is the town Sheriff, she is the prefect choice for the job.
There’s a lot more going on in this small town than a murder/kidnapping. There’s some sort of past between the murdered girl’s father and Bethany. Of course his new “trophy” wife has a secret agenda and his son has a hidden cache of video tapes.
Then there’s Bethany’s old flame and the unknown reason she left him at the alter. Not to mention how the Sheriff’s husband is involved with the murder. Or how the Sheriff’s daughter’s new boyfriend figures in.
This show is a bit of a “Twin Peaks” Redeaux. It even has a song by Chris Isaak in the soundtrack. Fortunately the writers are skilful enough to strike the right cord and the show seems more of an homage than a rip-off. With a lot of secrets to reveal and many of them having little or nothing to do with the main plot, this show has plenty of room for entertainment.
Well written, well acted and a masterful score combine to make this pilot a very good beginning. Here's hoping that it gets picked up for a slot in the mid-season.
