Sterling Archer is the world's most dangerous spy. He works for a spy agency run by his mother. In between dealing with his boss and his co-workers - one of whom is his ex-girlfriend - Archer manages to annoy or seduce everyone that crosses his path. His antics are only excusable because at the… More end of the day, he still somehow always manages to thwart whatever crises was threatening mankind.
In the latest episode, Archer and Lana dealt with a huge dog, which looked a lot like an English Mastiff, named "Kazak." In "The Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut (1959), there is an English Mastiff named "Kazak." "Kazak" also appears in a couple other Vonnegut books as different breeds. In… More "Galapagos" he's a German Shepherd and in "Breakfast of Champions," "Kazak" is a Doberman Pincer.
So when is season 5 due? Im finding withdrawal symptoms kicking in!
My favourite has to be Carol, Crystal, whatever! It seems likeshe has the most fun. And I love Judy she is fantastic. Who's yours?
Rife with sop***ric humor, Archer is still as irreverant as always. Stirling Archer is a crass and entitled momma's boy who belittles (and sometimes shoots) his coworkers, treats women as sexual objects, abuses his elderly butler, and generally creates mayhem wherever he goes. His success as an agent is largely considered a result of blind luck and superior genetics as opposed to actual skill. Yet despite this, he is actually a charismatic extrovert, who craves human contact and at times even shows genuine compassion for others, even his adversaries. It is this dynamic with others, a contradiction of sorts that makes the show funny. His peers tend to view him with contempt and begrudging respect, in equal measure. The writing and voice acting are top notch. Not all jokes land all the time, but when do they ever? Plot takes a back seat in this character driven series and you definitely get to know and care about this band of misfits. Definitely worth a watch!
Archer is an incredibly funny, amazingly smart and deliciously witty show. With all the thrills and intrigue of a secret agency, Archer goes the extra mile (or extra 10 miles) over to the crazy side. The insults and comments come with no warning at all and there really isn't an area that Sterling Archer leaves untouched. I shouldn't really be enjoying this show but I just really am. Great work. Keep doing what you're doing.
As one reviewer stated, Who wouldn't want to be Archer? James Bond meets Dumb and Dumber. Hard drinking like Bond but dumb as an eggplant and as funny as Woody Allen in his slapstick days (think Bananas, Sleeper) This is the funniest show on TV without a doubt. Hard to believe the development between the character personalities is animated. Fantastic writing throughout all seasons. Can;t wait for more seasons! Highest recommendation, but not for kids
