Hugh was immortalized as a caricature at New York's famous restaurant, Sardi's during his run on Broadway as the star of The Boy from Oz. (edit) During the filming of X-Men, Hugh was able to bench press a maximum of 315 pounds. (edit) In 2006 Hugh lent his voice to the animated film Flushed Away. (edit) Hugh was nominated for an Emmy Award for hosting the TV broadcast of the 2005 Tony Awards. He was up against Barry Manilow and host David Letterman for 'Individual Performance'. (edit) Hugh was a classmate of Dominic Purcell at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. (edit)

Hugh: I've always felt that if you back down from a fear, the ghost of that fear never goes away. It diminishes people. So I've always said 'yes' to the thing I'm most scared about. The fear of letting myself down -- of saying 'no' to something that I was afraid of and then sitting in my room later going, 'I wish I'd had the guts to say this or that' -- that galvanizes me more than anything. (edit) Hugh (on his role of Wolverine): Now I meet people with full-color Wolverine tattoos on their backs. Thank God I did okay, because I think if I hadn't, they'd spit on me in the street. (edit) Hugh (on his new comic book series): I've had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the 'X-Men' franchise that I wanted to get even more involved. I'm excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the big screen. (edit) Hugh: (Summer plans for 2007) I'm bringing the whole kit and caboodle up [from Sydney] and we're doing a 3 ½ month adventure in the outback. At times we'll be in tents, we'll be out on Aboriginal land, there'll be crocodiles...My son [Oscar] just turned 7, my daughter [Ava] is almost 2- she'll forget it, but my son never, ever will. I'm thrilled I have a wife who's up for it! (edit) Hugh: (On Viva Laughlin) It has musical elements. But it's not a musical in the way we traditionally know. It's really a murder mystery. (edit)
