When their daughter witnesses a shooting and the family enters the program the father is told he can not enter any profession that has any ties to his prior life preventing him from continuing to practice medicine. "On the down low
When Mary is scrambling to come up with a cover story as to why she is registering the girls for school, she mentions that she is their aunt, having been married to their father's brother. In response to the girls' laughter Mary says that her husband was "on the down low." This is slang for a seemingly straight man who is a closeted homosexual. edit »
Four Horsemen

Raphael: (to Mary while he's looking up to the sky) I don't see the four horsemen.
He's making reference to The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that are mentioned in the Bible in chapter six of the Book of Revelation, which predicts that they will ride during the Apocalypse. The four horsemen are traditionally named War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. However, the Bible actually only names one: Death. edit »
