A world-class counterfeiter in WITSEC - whose girlfriend's infidelity had moved her to turn government's witness - is suspected in the murder of another "friend". But the clues seem contradictory and even forged. Then Mary and Marshall realize that they might have been hiding a witness from the government, itself.
Now I know why I stopped watching In Plain Sight. I gave up on this show with 4 episodes left in Season 2. I am finishing them up and will tune in come Season 3, but as a whole this show has just gotten really bad.
Mary shooting spit balls. Is this Nickelodeon? This was once a very interesting character and one of USA Network's great personalities, but the writing for her has been nothing short of awful.
This episode was just thrown together and a complete mess as a whole. You are better than this In Plain Sight. Simply terrible.
Marshall's speech at the end was amazing!! hide show
Marshall was kind of not-reacting to the news of Mary’s engagement for the entire episode, but then his speech at the end - it almost made me cry. At the end of the episode, while Stan & Eleanor were throwing an engagement party for Mary, Eleanor invited Marshall to give a toast. His toast was so sweet, I have to repeat it he said “OK, here’s to the best friend I’ve ever had, could ever hope to have, a girl for whom no man will ever be good enough, I hope that you know that… I love you and I wish for you nothing but a lifetime of happiness.” It was so heartfelt and true. It was just amazing :)
When she discovers her lover in the arms of another man a counterfeiter turns herself into the Treasury Department and WITSEC control. Mary and Marshall must find out the truth between a related murder. Marshall reacts badly to Mary's engagement. hide show
Interesting episode with a number of twist and turns in the storyline. We have a whole lot going on so I'll try to touch on it all.
Early on we see Raph and Brandi dealing with their prior involvement. I think Brandi must have some left over angst but Raph seems totally dedicated to Mary and not interested in Brandi at all. Let's hope Brandi doesn't screw this up like she does everything else.
The relationship between Ahn and Helen was not as it seemed. The CIA agent falls for the counterfeiter and things sort of snowball when Helen sees her doing her job. Interesting how things can be misconceived when their is secrecy and treachery afoot. It seems that everything will be OK but I guess Helen will not be in the WITSEC program any longer. Of course she's got a CIA agent to protect her.
Det. Dershowitz is a handy guy to have around. I really like Todd Williams and the character and I hope we see a lot more of him in the future. He helped Mary and Marshall put a nice little bow on this case. The ancillary murder which put the suspicion on Helen really brought him into this case. Marshall is really torn up about Mary's engagement. It is interesting that Mary is as secretive about her personal life with her work friends as she has to be with her family about her work activities. So Marshall should have been the first person she told but in a way he was the last despite the fact that they are best friends.
It was nice to see Eleanor and Stan being really happy for Mary. Beneath all of the stuff between Mary and Eleanor I think the characters really do respect and care for each other.
It's difficult to really read Mary. I don't think she would have said yes to Raph if she wasn't in love with him. She's not that impulsive. I use to think she and Marshall should get together but I think Raph is grounded and really good for her in the context of the storylines. He sort of is her lifeline to reality.
Lots of serialized stuff going on with this show making it a really fun ride to watch. Maybe next week we will have some real feelings come out from Marshall and we'll see that situation come to the fore. I enjoyed this episode and it had a lot of good action as well. Thanks for reading...
