This episode (along with the 2 previous episodes) were written long before they normally would have been. This was due to Catherine Bell's pregnancy & planned maternity leave, which would have occurred during the time these episodes would have normally been filmed. As a result, the scenes with Mac were being filmed at the same time as other episodes were being filmed.

The plane crash at the end of the episode was written into the script to give the writers a way to remove the character of Harmon Rabb, Jr., if DJE failed to renew his contract (He eventually did sign a new contract). (edit)

As Harm & Mac are taking off, Mac reminds Harm how much she hates flying, especially since the last time they went up, they crashed & she was stabbed in the leg ("Full Engagement"). In that episode though, Mac is shot, not stabbed. The comment is also in error as the last time the two went flying was when they flew a MIG-29 & ejected after being fired upon.
