The name of Summer Glau's character Cameron (Phillips) in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was intended as a homage to James, the writer and director of the original Terminator movies. He also wrote for the TV series. (edit) James is a member of the American Cinema Editors society (ACE). (edit) James is a big fan of Japanese anime. (edit) James was a voracious reader in high school. Science fiction being a primary interest, he immersed himself in books by Arthur C. Clarke, A.E. Van Vogt, Harlan Ellison, and Larry Niven. James: (message to aspiring directors) I tell them that no two people will ever do it the same way, and there is nothing I can say that will help you. Whatever your talents are, whatever your strengths and weaknesses, you have to find the path that's going to work for you.
