Dancing With's stars revealed

Former Spice Girl, ex-90210 star, Vegas crooner, soap star, billionaire, boxer, and race car driver among dozen rug-cutters.

Dancing With the Stars' formula is simple--pair B-list celebrities with professional dancers and watch the ratings pour in. The reality sensation that has danced across the nation will continue on until people stop watching it, and ABC has announced the roster of talent that will participate in the fifth season of the show, which kicks off September 24.

The list features a wide range of semifamiliar names, including models, actresses, a pro boxer, and the owner of a professional basketball team.

The multitalented Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Wedding Crashers) will dust off her dancing shoes and show that she can not only write books, act in television and movies, and win Emmys and Golden Globes, but she can also foxtrot, cha-cha, and krump. The 56-year-old will be paired with Stars veteran dancer Tony Dovolani.

Just a few months after giving birth, Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown will be taking the stage on the show, which should be good practice for her future Spice Girls reunion tour. Brown will dance with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who returns for his fourth season.

Jennie Garth, who played Kelly on the steamy teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 and Valerie on What I Like About You, will once again be thrust into the spotlight as she shimmies and shakes before a national audience. Her shimmying and shaking partner will be Stars newcomer Derek Hough, brother of season-four winner Julianne Hough. Garth is the second former-90210 star to boogie on the show; Ian Ziering participated in season four.

No stranger to the spotlight, Las Vegas mainstay Wayne Newton will ditch the singing for straight-up dancing this season. He'll have experience on his side with two-time-winning dance partner Cheryl Burke.

ABC's attempt to bring in a male audience will come from the three sports-related contestants--professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, race car driver Helio Castroneves, and billionaire loudmouth Mark Cuban, who owns the NBA's Dallas Mavericks.

In related Dancing news, second-season winner Drew Lachey will take on hosting duties of the show's spin-off series Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann. The reality show will feature Bruno and Carrie Ann, two former Dancing With the Stars judges, each assembling a dance team and squaring them off against one another.

This season might be interesting with this group of entertainers, even though I know only some of them. But anyway bring it on.

Jayne Seymour and Marie Osmond? They already know how to dance. If Marie Osmond is still in the Osmond perfectionist mind set, she'll wipe the floor with Scary Spice. I can see the men disappearing quickly. This should be a "females to the finish" season.

Sadly, the only reason to watch the show this year is Cheryl Burke. Outside of that this year will be dismal!

First I had to look up half these people since I'd never heard of them before...as for the other half... no one interests me. It's gonna be a repeat of last season where I just don't care about who wins.
