Jay Mohr was born in Verona, New Jersey. He is an American TV and film actor, stand-up comedian, and sports analyst. He began his acting career as a featured player of Saturday Night Live in the mid-'90s. After his stint with SNL, he had recurring roles in The Jeff Foxworthy Show and the short-lived FOX comedy Local Heroes.
In the movies, Mohr can be remembered as Tom Cruise' competing sports agent in Jerry Maguire (1996) and the videographer in love with Jennifer Aniston in Picture Perfect (1997). Since then, Jay has done more than a dozen movies, both in lead and supporting roles.
On television, Mohr starred in the television series Action, hosted the ESPN talk show Mohr Sports and the reality competition show Last Comic Standing. In 2006, Jay was cast as Professor Rick Payne in the CBS drama Ghost Whisperer. In 2008, he landed the starring role of a newly divorced father in the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried.
