Full Recap

What begins as a pleasant night out with Max and her best friends soon turns awkward and embarrassing for Teddie when she bumps into a former flame. While enjoying drinks before their outing to a Broadway play, Teddie is spotted by her ex-boyfriend, Jonah, whom she weakly introduces to current fiance Max. Although it's clear that both men are unfazed by the impromtu meeting, Teddie tries to soothe Max by telling him that he need not feel envious of Jonah. Jealousy then becomes the topic of conversation as Max insists to Teddie that he has no such feelings. When the couple return home later that evening, Teddie has a casual exchange of words with babysitter Abby about the evening's events and the two women agree to go out for coffee. Moments later, however, it's Teddie who is stunned when Eliza innocently points out that Abby was more than just a babysitter to the family. Having learned that Abby was Max's one-time lover, Teddie angrily locks herself in the bathroom before Max convinces her to come out and hear his side of the story. The next day, Teddie confesses her upset to Judy and Hillary who are equally stunned when they learn that Teddie is determined to become friends with Abby despite some obvious difficulties.
Over the next two weeks, we see Teddie sharing chamomile tea and Yoga classes with Abby as Judy and Hillary continue to express their disgust about the budding friendship between the two women. Things eventually reach a climax when Abby - nearing a confession about her and Max - is told by Teddie that she knows of their past fling. Flabbergasted that Teddie had decided to take the 'high road' instead of berating her with friends, Abby gracefully tells the emotionally restrained Teddie that it's better for the two of them to lead separate lives and dicontinue their friendship. At home again, it's clear that Teddie still harbors feelings of insecurity about Abby whom she sees as the ideal woman for Max - 'a rock.' Although Max agrees with this assessment, he also makes it clear that a rock needs more if it is to flourish - and Teddie is 'the perfect storm' for him.
