Old Meets New

Episode Number: 21    Season Num: 1    First Aired: Saturday November 15, 1986    Prod Code: n/a
For the first time in their career, Jem and the Holograms encounter a concertgoer who’s not pleased with their performance. They meet Bobby Bailey, a 1950s rocker who complains that their cover of one of his songs is no good. The band soon learns that Bobby’s bitterness stems in large part from the fact that Eric Raymond wants to bulldoze his building to build a factory. Kimber leads the band in helping Bobby keep his home and old recording studio.

Eric: Oh. How relaxing! (Maneuvering the wrecking ball at the building)
Stormer: You sure got weird hobbies, Eric. (edit)
Bobbie: That song was meant to be played straight and simple without those new fangled synthesizers, moves and other electronic clap drap.
Kimber: What good is a guitar if you can't plug it in? (edit)
Bobbie: That song. That song was all wrong.
Kimber: What makes you such an authority on how we should be playing that song? (edit)
