For the first time in my three years working on the Save Jericho campaign, I actually got to speak to Dan Shotz directly. We had a 20 minute call today and covered several topics. First and foremost, Dan wanted to thank all of the fans for their efforts to keep Jericho alive.Your efforts have not been in vain. I asked him direct questions and he answered me as best he could. As to the comic, they are currently in negotiations with other vendors to put the remaining three issues out. Devil's Due is assisting them in this process. Dan stated that they had hoped to have answers to our questions (including the new distributor), for Comic Con, but due to contractual issues with moving the comic that was not possible. He asked for us to give him 1 to 2 weeks to see if they can nail down the new distribution deal and then he will send out his own announcement. I for one want to give him that time and will wait for a few more weeks. DDP is having financial issues, as Denny Wilson stated, but also involved is their move to putting out digital comics. I then asked about the movie and Dan said they are working on the movie and that the sales of the comic and the graphic novel will be key to get to movie released, so they are pushing to get issue 4-6 and the novel out the door ASAP. K6FEJ was one hundred percent on the nose. Dan said he will update us as soon as possible, as he wants the fans of the Jericho Community to get the news as soon as it is available. He also confirmed to me that CBS Films and Paramount are the two companies that would be approached about the film, and that CBS Consumer Products was at Comic Con and are directly involved with the Jericho comic. As to Comic Con, after attending for the first time, I can unequivocally state that it is the largest and most important public relations/marketing tool for television and movies. Many TV shows and movies including Iron Man, Drive with Anger and The Expendables were there as was the new Hawaii Five-O and FX's Son's of Anarchy. We are most definitely alive and well and on the minds of CBS. As always we stay the course and Keep the Faith Redsox 19861 ______________________________________________________________ Comic Con Report The Jericho Fan Table was very busy at Comic Con 2010! We spoke to over 100 fans a day and sent a lot of fans down to buy issues 1-3. DDP was keeping track of how many customers came from the fan table. Sam let us know that a majority of the customers were sent by the fan table. Issues 1-3 were selling like hot cakes and DDP sold out their remaining stock of Jericho comics. We also had a significant number of press and professionals coming to the table to learn about Jericho. Some of them were trying to find out what we knew about Jericho's future. Barrett Foa, a actor from NCIS: LA, told us he had worked with Stephen Chobsky and he wanted to know more about the show Jericho and why everyone was talking about the show. There were also Comic Con staff members coming to find us, so they could wear the Jericho Season 3 ribbons. One of those staff members told us that the rumor floating around back stage is that Jericho is back in production!!! We got new signatures for the "Don't Tread On Me Flag": DB Sweeney (Goetz) and Michael Broderick (Ravenwood operative in S1, Cheyenne soldier in S2) signed the flag. Unfortunately, we missed getting James Remar's signature. I wanted to thank Gkkatz, Holyhobbits, Larissa (Future Traditions) and Redsox for their help running the fan table. It's everyone working together that makes the fan table possible. This is my fourth time running this booth at a large Comic Con and this time was different; this time it was not just the fans interested in Jericho. Yes, I'm disappointed we did not get an announcement, but I am encouraged by the increased interest from media professionals and the rumors about Jericho's future. Here's an article that describes the winner and losers of Comic Con: http://io9.com/5596813/the-biggest-winners-and-losers-of-comic-con-2010 Note that two post-apocalyptic series premiered at Comic Con 2010. I hope this is one of the reasons there is increased interest in Jericho. In regards to Mr. Blaylock's recent statement, regarding Diamond comics, I have done further research and found that Diamond Comics holds an iron fist on the industry. Furthermore, in my opinion, Diamond has unfair practices. During my research, I found out that Diamond collect orders from all the stores and reports the number to the publisher, which in turn prints that amount or close to it. When the comics are picked up, whatever is left over is returned to the publisher, and they are charged for a sale. This is unfair, unless the publisher provided the excess numbers. I have visited two comic stores, who were both unaware of this unfair practice and were also unaware of Haven Comics. When asked if they would support DDP and Jericho, they both said yes, if the minimal requirements weren't too high. They seemed eager to have some competition in their business and voiced their displeasure with Diamond's practices. DDP has been good to Jericho, so we should return the gesture by supporting them all out. Please go to your local store, and make them aware that Haven Distributing will be carrying Jericho. Also let them know about the unfair tactics that are used to control the publisher and their profits. We have heard some things about DDP having issues with the distributor Diamond Comics. What we do know is that Josh at DDP stated on June 9th that issues number 4 through 6 are done and will be available after an official release is made by CBS. Until we hear that official release nothing has changed. We hope to get clarification from Junction over the next several days and hope to hear news about the continuation of the comic and the status of the Jericho movie. Great idea for a show, so poorly executed. hide show

Jericho's premise was great; it had all the elements needed to build an outstanding show, but unfortunately got the wrong writers, the wrong actors, the wrong producers. I'm still wondering why it actually lasted one full season before its first cancellation, when it should have lasted no more than the usual 13 episodes.

Seriously, this show was messed up by all the wrong people working on it. And I'm not talking about the details; I'm not that kind of guy who's looking for the goofs and all that. I watched the whole show, and all along the way, while I was looking forward to see the obvious good things that should have been done, all I got was the perfect example of how to screw up in every possible way what was an awesome idea.

It's not CBS's fault. The network, as annoying as they can be when they cancel shows whose audience was twice of Jericho's audience, has nothing to do with this show's demise. As said above, it was so poorly executed by all the parts involved, that it's actually some kind of miracle how it lasted one full season.

Sorry guys, but that's the truth. Jericho was always way too far from awesome, even was far from being good. All that was good from it, was the original idea. Go find the right writers, actors and producers, and start it all over again. Damn, if even a cheap show like Stargate SG-1 lasted 10 seasons...

Still the best show ever on TV IMHO! It will be a loooong time before any show, if ever, will match what Jericho has. Only when, not if, they bring Jericho back will any show match it! (Obivious Man winking ;)) hide show

Glad to be back, it has been a long vacation (?) or hiatus. Been a Jericho Ranger from Day One. Been reviewing the DVD set and taking notes. Not notes on how the show was produced, directed, etc. But of lessons learned from the plot. Preparedness is in my blood, and Jericho hit the nail on the head! In all my years trying to get others to do some sort of preparedness, this show finally is my ally! I have converted more people to think of "Being Prepared" in the two seasons of Jericho than all of my time prior to Jericho. And I know that I am not alone! I am sure 9/11 helped as well. God Bless America.

    Be Prepared,

Why do I always miss these shows?... hide show

I just started browsing through YouTube's new show channel feature, and came across this show. Curiousity got the better of me and I began the pilot episode. I was hooked within the first 30 minutes wondering what the heck was going on after the bomb. I was literally glued to my seat and left with a dropped jaw with the ending scene of all the dead birds. This is by far a fantastic "what the heck is going on series"?

As usual once I begin to get into aa show, I find out it's cancelled and never get to hear about them when their actually on tv. Atleast I can catch up with what I missed out on, online with Youtube.

Can you say CHEESY? hide show

I tried to get into this show, I really did. But it is just too cheesy for me. The acting, the music, the production quality, everything about it feels cheap. It just has that low budget, find it in the cheap bin quality to it. Maybe I'm used to quality shows like Lost, Grey's Anatomy and even Friday Night Lights,(FNL can be cheesy at times, but is at least watchable and entertaining). I'm surprised Jericho lasted as long as it did. I personally will not waste my time with this show. But then again, I couldn't watch Smallville for the same reason.

One of the best shows on television, if not THE best show on television. hide show

An hour ago I had just finnished watching Jericho; every episode, and it left me almost speechless. Jericho has it all, the drama, the action and even the humour. It's the classification of a show we all want to see more of. It's got everything, perfect plot/story, perfect cast, perfect everything. Every episode was exciting and engaging, it makes you want to watch the next episode, and then the next and so forth... Shocking turns of events happen all the way through the series, both seasons are enjoyable, and I couldn't think of what more they could add. It ends with every state except Cheyenne declaring war on the newly elected government. We don't need to see the war, the outcome is obvious so the series does not end with a cliffhanger. In my eyes, the ending was perfect. Even better than the ending was the plot in the first season, where we watch the town struggling to survive, wanting food, electricity etc... The second season was of the same stature, we understand that the government is corrupt and everything. We find out about almost everything through the induction of the character Robert Hawkins. Nearly everything in the show relies on him, and the actor did a great job to portray him. Jericho is a superb show, and we want to see more shows like it.
