De Santis had the kind of face you just couldn't place, a real "Everyman" face so producers would often cast him as different guest characters in different episodes of the same show. He played two characters in two episodes each in The Nurses, Lux Video Theater, Inner Sanctum, The Westinghous Desilu Playhouse,Playhouse 90, Surfside 6, The Name of the Game and The Virginian. Two characters in three episodes of Dr. Kildare; the same breakdown in Sam Benedict; three different characters each in Perry Mason, The United States Steel Hour, Rawhide and Mission Impossible; four each in Gunsmoke and Bonanza; five characters in six episodes of The Untouchables and six characters in seven episodes of 77 Sunset Strip.
