When Mike Jr.'s parents, Dylan and Jermaine pay him a visit at his college, they discover Mandy in his dorm room. Dylan and Jermaine believes Mandy and Mike Jr. are sleeping together, while Mr. and Mrs Roberts accept Mike's explanation. In the meantime, Ashley learns that her mother is a terrible driving teacher.
Jermaine and Mandy are working on their video yearbook project at school and they try to film their classmates. But after their friends Ash and Dylan just broke up, these two refuse to talk to the camera and each other.
After their break-up, Ash and Dylan reminisce about their days together. When Dylan realizes that their relationship changed after Ashley's return from San Francisco, he wants to know what happened there.
Dylan's lack in romance is affecting their relationship more and more as Ash is getting increasingly annoyed about it. In the meantime, Laurel can't find a date for the school dance, but ends up singing at the dance.
Mandy's more than enthusiastic and too vocal father makes her almost quit playing volleyball. Meanwhile, Ash sets up a blind date for her mom through an online dating site.
During a slumper party with Kim, Mandy and Laurel, Ash admits that she kissed another boy while being together with Dylan. In the meantime, Dylan and Jermaine have to repair an accidentally out of its hinges kicked out door, before Dylan's father returns can see the damage.
When Jermaine's divorced parents meet for his birthday, they take the opportunity to fight and turn it into an unpleasant event for Jermaine. Somewhere else, a fortune teller worsens the situation for Laurel, Ash and Dylan.
Dylan finds a new friend in his soccer teammate Kevin Marshall, but his father dislikes him. Ash risks failing science class when she refuses to dissect a frog.
Dylan and Ash both find that honesty is the best policy, even if it isn't always the easiest.
Ashley learns that Dylan's friend "Lucky" he spent his summer with is a girl named Laurel. When Jermaine grows tired of waiting for Kim who isn't ready for a new relationship yet, he asks Mandy out.
Both Ash and Jermaine let their intensity get the better of them in this episode, and they have to learn to take things a little easier.
An empty condom wrapper causes some trouble: After Dylan and Ash spend an afternoon misusing condoms as waterballoons, Dylan's parents find an empty wrapper and accuse him of having pre-marital sex. In the meantime, Jermaine has to deal with Kim's jealousy of the new coworker Mandy.
When the summer vacation is over and Ash and Dylan return, they both have a secret that could end their relationship. At the Vinyl Frontier, Jermaine takes part in a deejay competition and Benny hires a new barista named Mandy for the Vinyl Frontier.
