Karlene Crockett: Biography

A leading lady of television films from the 80's, Karlene Crockett has had a short, but successful career in the film industry since she was in her 20's. Hailing from the Midwest, Crockett studied acting and appeared on stage in small productions, before she came to California in the late 1970's. She landed the role of Murial Gillis in the first five seasons (1978-1982) of the very popular and sucessful TV series "Dallas". After she left the show in 1982, she starred in the TV film "Death of a Centerfold: The Dorthy Stratten Story" co-starring with Jamie Lee Curtis and Robert Reed. From then on, Karlene Crockett eventually started landing lead roles in several TV films. One in particular was playing Lisl Gilbert, a young woman faced with the fact that her mother is dying of cancer in the major ABC TV drama film "A Matter of Time". In 1985, Crockett won an Emmy Award as Best Supporting Actress in a Guest Starring role for an episode on the hit series "Family Ties". In the remainder of the 80's, Crockett stayed busy in both TV and widely acclaimed theatrical motion pictures that included, "Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen", "Eyes of Fire", "Return" and "Addicted to His Love". Since 1995, Crockett has offically given up acting on television.
