Notes

This episode establishes that Kate pays $800.00 a month for her apartment. This is a 4 bedroom, two story, with complete basement. And ONLY $800.00 a month. Either prices have greatly gone up or there is some major rent control going on here. (edit)
It is at this episode that the series really ceases to be. The series was about two women merging families. Kate no longer has one. Allie once the shy and meek one, no longer is. It is now KATE that needs Allie to help her, not the other way around as had been. It ceases to be "Kate & Allie" and becomes a very watered down version of the "Odd Couple." (edit)
This episode marked the last time the exterior of Kate and Allie's basement appartment was used in the opening sequence. From "Anchor Away" onward, the exterior used was that of Bob and Allie's condo. (edit)

Allie: "Kate & Allie: The Next Generation"
Refering to Haven and Blair subletting Kate's apartment, Allie makes a reference to the first Star Trek sequel series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was then in its second season. (edit)
