Detective-for-hire Hanpei Hattori was a very selfish and hysterically over-the-top character in the 70s tokusatsu series; Picture a Japanese version of Shaggy from SCOOBY DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? in glasses and Sherlock Holmes detective attire (His assistant Etsuko Sarutobi was only in the manga and did not appear in the show). Here in the anime, Hanpei is almost completely serious and reserved.

"Jiro's Guitar"--
I'm not entirely sure if this counts as a continuity error or a mis-translation, but here goes. In the English-Dub of Episode 1 the guy who nearly hits Jiro with his truck yells, angrily and quite clearly, "Do you think you're some kind of rock star, carrying around that guitar?" Jiro reacts by turning around and staring at the guitar on his back as though noticing it for the first time. However, in THIS episode, after becoming an expert on the thing in two minutes flat, he tells the kid who teaches him that he doesn't even know what it's called. Ooooooops! (edit)
