One of the most famous villains in Japanese fantasy, Hakaider was George Lucas' inspiration for Darth Vader in STAR WARS, having seen the 70s tokusatsu KIKAIDER TV series when he was in Japan. Hakaider also starred in his own tokusatsu movie in 1995, MECHANICAL VIOLATOR HAKAIDER, directed by Keita Amemiya (whose credits include CYBER NINJA, the two ZEIRAM movies, MOON OF TAO, MIKAZUKI, etc.). In that film, there was a huge mechanical creature with Kikaider's face (a possible in-joke?)!
