Dante Basco (Fukushima) would go on to voice the title character in American Dragon: Jake Long.
Will Friedle would do a guest voice in a Season Two episode "Feeding Frenzy" as Jake's cousin Greggy. While not as malicious as Fukushima, Greggy is somewhat antagonistic towards Jake. (edit) "I Want It My Way":

Sensei: Do as your heart tells you.
Ron: (nervous) Can you hear it too? (edit) Monkey Fist: The Lotus Blade! NOOOO!!!! (turns to Ron)
Ron: Ok, real quickly, I want to point out that wasn't my fault. (edit) Monkey Fist: Hand over the sword!
Ron: Never. Not in a hundred, thousand, million, billion yea... (Fukushima knocks it out of his hands) (edit) Ron: You'll never get into a good ninja college!
Fukushima: But I was hoping to gain early admission.
Monkey Fist: I'll write you a reccomendation letter. (edit) Fukushima: Wait, outsider!
Ron: Look, dude-san, I don't have time for your attitude right now. (edit)

Yori tells Ron that everybody starts training at four in the morning, but, when they are outside, it is far too bright to be four in the morning.
(edit)
Sensei claims that Toshimiru, the founder of Yamanouchi, was a master of Tai Sheng Pek Kwar (Monkey Kung Fu), but Tai Sheng Pek Kwar is Chinese, not Japanese.
(edit)
Yamanouchi (ŽRƒm“à) and Fukushima (•Ÿ“‡) are both locations in Hokkaido, northern Japan. This just so happens to be where this story is set. The former means "within the mountains" and the latter means "island of good fortune".
(edit)
When Ron is at the airport, he is carrying a lot of luggage, then when he gets out of the taxi, he has none and is seen with nonthing but Rufus when he arrives.
(edit)
When the students are lining up to get sushi from the lunch lady, Yori is wearing her black ninja uniform. Yet a moment later, she is wearing a white ninja suit just like everyone else just before her turn comes up.
(edit)
Thundercats:
Ron: Here sword, here boy.
Ron calling for the Lotus Blade is alot like how Lion-O, from the Thundercats calls for the Sword of Omens. (edit) Name: Yamanouchi:
Name is fictional but appears to refer to Yamanashi, both a prefecture (county-sized province) and a small city within the prefecture. (edit) Romeo and Juliet:
When Bonnie kisses Hirotaka at the end, the theme from the Romeo and Juliet ballet is faintly in the background. The theme sounds as if played with a plucked string instrument, like a banjo or any number of Asian string instruments. (edit) Ranma 1/2:
When Ron is trying to get some sushi from the Master Lunchlady it is very similar to Ranma trying to get the "Phoenix Pill" from Cologne in the Japanese anime Ranma 1/2(episode: Behold! The "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" Technique (3) ) (edit) AKIRA:
When Ron turns blue and his hair stands up as he stomps the ground near the end of the episode, he is not supposed to be like the guy from DragonballZ but Tetsuo from the Japanese anime movie: AKIRA. Steve Loter said so in a Questions & Answers session. (edit)
