(After Ron is cured, Kim hugs him)
Ron: Oh, yeah. That feels nice.
Kim: I was starting to think I'd never get to do that again. (edit) (After the Mathter zaps Ron with his calcu-laser, Kim knocks it out of his hand)
Kim: That's right, Math-freak. Nobody messes with my boyfriend!
Mathter: Never the less, you'll soon learn I've left your 'boyfriend' with a new problem to solve! (edit) (Kim and Ron learn all traces of Ron's existence are gone
Kim: Who'd want to erase Ron?
(The Mathter and his minions appear)
Mathter: Don't you mean subtract?
Ron: (groans) Oh, great. Now the math guy is back.
Kim: (sighs) And he's not even our villain. (edit) (The class is having a hard time watching Barkin's slideshow)
Barkin: Alright, people. I think you can see the point of this presentation.
Ron: Uh, you're showing us how not to run slide projector?
(The projector catches fire and Bsrkin puts it out with an extinguisher)
Barkin: I knew the school should've spent their tech budget updating the AV equipmet instead of those stupid voice-activated lights.
Computer Voice: Lights.
(The lights come on)
Barkin: (Sighs) Anyway, these people were heroes in their own time. Your english assignment is...
Kim: To interview and do a report on a hero in our own lives?
Barkin: Riiight.
Computer Voice: Lights.
(The lights go out)
Barkin: (sighs) Lights. (the lights don't come back on) I said lights!
Computer Voice: Lights.
(The lights come on)
Ron: Hero, huh? (Looks at Kim) Oh, the Ron-man has this one in La bag.
Barkin: And no. You can't interview the person you're dating.
Ron: Brutal. How do you sleep at night?
Computer Voice: Lights.
(The lights go out)
Barkin: He said "night", not lights!
Computer Voice: Lights (they come on) Lights (they go out)
Barkin: Oh, I hate that stupid thing.
Computer Voice: Ring. Activating school bell.
(The bell rings and class is dismissed) (edit) Kim: (after seeing the Mathter for the first time) Okay, lame villain! (edit)

When Kim and Ron depart from Ron's house for their mission, Ron's father says that he won't stand with someone putting his son in a bubble. The way it is presented makes it sound like he is mad at the Mathter, but in reality Kim's father put him in that bubble.
(edit)
Rufus was in Ron's pocket when Ron was hit by the anti-matter conversion beam, but after this we see him sitting on the top of Ron's containment bubble, outside it. In reality, he too should have been placed in a containment bubble since he would have the "gift" as well.
(edit)
This marks the second time this season that Ron has been placed in a containment bubble. The first was when he was placed in a bubble by the Tweebs in the episode Mad Dogs and Aliens.

Dragonball Z Cell Saga Gohan V Cell:
The final fight scene between Ron's dad and the Mathter is similar to the final fight sequence of Dragonball Z Cell Saga Gohan V Cell. Ron encouraging his father to beat the Mather is the same action Goku does at the end to get Gohan to win and save the world yet again. (edit) Power Rangers Turbo:
The Mather's weapons, which are based on numbers and math symbols, are like those of the monster "Numbor" from Power Rangers Turbo. (edit) The Bubble Boy:
The bubble that Ron is placed into after being struck with the Mathter's ray is a lot like the bubble in the movie The Bubble Boy. (edit) Mathter and Fervent:
This is a play on the phrases "master and servant" and "mother and father" only combined with the word "math". (edit)

Mathter and FerventPerfect "Character development" This episode is terribly misunderstood, the point of this episode was mostly to flesh out Ron's Dad more. IMO it did just that. Continue » Posted Jul 25, 2007 9:47 pm PST |
