Hank is enthusiastic about Bobby's new hobby of cards, envisioning his son as an aspiring poker shark. But they're really tarot cards, and Bobby's fortune-telling brings him to a coven led by a nerdy thirty-something who urges him to focus his...
With the Homecoming dance looming, Bobby unexpectedly becomes a hot commodity among the girls in his class. However, he later realizes that he is just a pawn in a bigger game.
King of the Hill is another animation hit from Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge, who also voices the starring character Hank Hill, a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen, Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society, but he finds (some) serenity in his home-life… More with his wife, substitute Spanish teacher Peggy, his awkward son Bobby and his live-in niece-in-law Luanne Platter. Adding flavor to the ordinary dish the series serves are Hank's friends, divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive, paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and gibberish spouting Boomhauer. On April 4th 2008, FOX renewed the series for a 13th season. FOX has aired 253 of the 255 total episodes after the 13th season wrapped on May 17, leaving two episodes still yet to air. It's understood however that producer 20th Century Fox Television kept the show in production for four additional episodes (DABE14-DABE17) bringing its actual total to 259. The network nevertheless has yet to license those extra episodes, meaning as few as two or as many as six could still air. King of the Hill in Canada; Sundays @ 7 PM E/P on Global. Repeats can be seen on FX. King of the Hill in the USA: Sundays @ 8:30 on FOX.
I watch KOTH on Adult Swim every night and lately I've noticed that they've removed Stephen Root (Bill's VA) from the credits. Anyone know why that is?
Most of his character is pure awesomesauce, but does anyone but me have their moments that he really irks you?
Would this be possible in any way? I mean, after what happened to Futurama, I think anything's possible. I mean, KOTH has a bigger fanbase than futurama right?
This show was best in its prime, around seasons 3-6, maybe 7. The show was never as good as any of my favorites, like Simpsons, but it had good plots. It wasn't like a typical cartoon- it seemed real. I give it credit for that. No episode as far as I can remember needed to go all out-there to make us laugh. They found humor in simple stories and it worked.
Unfortunately though, I think the show dipped around season 10. It was good, but something felt missing. Luckily it didn't go on {sorry, sounds mean} and become even more stale.
Overall grade: C+/B-. So it didn't dip TOO much
King of the Hill should have never ended! hide show
I love to watch a good King of the Hill everyday. Some days I may not make it, but I'll always like to watch it. I love how the episodes were put together and every episode that I have seen so far has been great. I get on my sisters nerves when I turn it on, she doesn't like it :P.
I'm glad its on Adult Swim right now, because if it wasn't for it I would have never known about the show.
I believe I also used to dislike the show, but it kind of grew on me, but it's sad it stopped playing...
It was great the entire time it was on the air hide show
It is not like every show to last 13 seasons and remain funny. But this was the case with King of the Hill. All the characters made me laugh. I love how even though most of the characters are idiots, they still had their turns to be the smart ones at times. Although there may be some episodes that I liked a tad more than others, they were all great. I own the first 6 seasons on DVD, and if and when seasons 7-13 are released, I will probably buy those ones as well. Rock on King of the Hill!
This show is very much underrated. The fact that it has lasted for more than 10 seasons is very much a fact that it is a quality show that seperates itself from other cartoon shows. The best part is the element of how realistic the storylines and plots are to reality. Unlike other shows, it is quite spot on in terms of overall relevancy to normal life. The one thing I don't like about the show is the fact that it sometimes overuses certain characters when others hardly get screen time. Overall, it is a funny show and very entertaining. Thank you.
Saddly, when the creator of Beavis & Butthead came to FOX, he made a show no where near as good as Beavis & Butthead, and it's right here. hide show
Why was this show running so long?! I don't get the gigantic appeal about it. I didn't like it, it was also a slight knock off of The Simpsons (well, Family Guy is too, but...) with not as good humor. I disliked this show even in it's early seasons and middle aged seasons. This show's not even close to how good it's predecessor Beavis & Butthead was. Well, it's cancelled, and the Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland show's taking over it's airing. Not long after, this review would get more than 500 thumbs down. I'm sorry fan boys and girls, but I don't like this show as much as Beavis & Butthead.
Grade: D
Beavis & Butthead's much better!
