    7.7 Good

I've rated this by trying to be considerate of the era it was made in and the other comedys around at the time. If I was rating against todays shows and standards it would probably only rate a 4 however it's still great nostalgia hide « show »

I only ever saw a couple of episodes of kingswood when it origionally screened, as back in those days regional Australia only had one TV station in each area unlike the three in major cities and ours was alined with channel 9 while Kingswood screened on channel 7. Still growing up in a Holden family Kingswood Contry was always going to hit a cord, although we probably didn't love our Kingswood as much as Ted Bulpit and certainly didn't go to the lengths he did to protect and appriciate it.

Kingswood featured large sterotyped caracters and the very politically incorect comedy that you could never get away with today (although a lot of it did serve to show how wrong it was particularly racial sterotypes). I fondly remember grumble bum (as he was nick named) Teds catch phrases of "somebody should blow up ...(what ever he was upset with usally the local nuns)" and "leave the money on the fridge wog" whenever he offered his son in law a beer.

Greame Kennedys (the king of Australian TV) appearance on the show was a classic when in true Kennedy style Greame ad-libed for the extra laugh and actually ate the can of dog food that Ted had subsituted for his wifes meat loaf.
