On December 20, 2007 Kyra Segdwick was nominated for a SAG Award in the category Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her performance on The Closer . She and her Closer castmates were also nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series. (edit) On December 13, 2007, Kyra Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the "Actress in a Leading Role - Drama Series" category for her performance in The Closer. (edit) Kyra Sedgwick and John Cryer made the announcements for Emmy nominations on July 19th, 2007. Kyra was surprised to learn that she was nominated for her role as Dep. Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in The Closer in the category of "Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series", as her name had not been read out during the rehearsals. She was also nominated in 2006 and 2008. (edit) In December, 2006, Kyra was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category of "Best Actress, Dramatic Series" for her role in The Closer. The Golden Globes were broadcast on January 15, 2007; Kyra won the award in her category.
