Mark and Steve find a girl whose working for the giants. hide show

This was like a Twilight Zone episode I remembered with Roddy McDowall. The one where he thinks he's on a planet with good people. Falls for one girl, then at the end, he's in a prison as a guinea pig for the zoo.

Mark and Steve find an attractive girl named Marna lying in a glass jar. She's in no pain or beaten up so Steve think she is bait and working for the giants. It turns out he is right. Mark knows it but still frees her. A big part of the episode had Mark falling for her and then eventually going into her habitat provided by the Giants. Of course she isn't totally free even though Marna tries to paint a pretty picture of what's going. She can't go through one door and face electrocution. Mark leaves and eventually reunites with the gang.

This episode also had the fist fight with Mark and Steve as they argue over whether they should free Marna. That's something the writers would at least be consistent with, Mark's inability to always respect Steve's order.

A decent episode overall though. Nice special effects.

  • Trivia: This episode features the only romantic scene in the entire run of the series. It is when Mark kisses the girl. []
  • 50-year technology gap: a closed-circuit TV system []
  • Within walking distance: the laboratory where they keep the captive Earth girl []
  • Anthony Wilson must like the phrase "judas goat": just as in the preceding episode that Wilson wrote, someone uses the phrase and then has to explain to someone else what it means. []
