Lane Davies took the summers off from Santa Barbara to do theater work. In the summer of 1989, Davies left the show after reportedly arguing with Nancy Lee Grahn. Davies has been reported as saying that his departure from Santa Barbara, this time, is permenant. Davies never returned to the role of Mason Capwell. Terry Lester replaced Davies as Mason Capwell in September, 1989.(edit)
