Cast of Grey's Anatomy, Simon Cowell, David Letterman make top 30.

There's no doubt that Oprah Winfrey is a very influential celebrity. But according to the business-centric minds at Forbes, she's at the top of the heap.

Number 98 on <em>Forbes</em>' list, number one in our hearts.

Number 98 on Forbes' list, number one in our hearts.

The magazine released its annual Celebrity 100 list, which ranks stars on the basis of their perceived power in Hollywood. The list is based not only on how much cash people make, but also on how many hits they get on Internet search engines, mentions in the press, and appearances on the cover of major magazines.

Forbes estimates that Oprah made $260 million between June 2006 and June 2007, putting her one spot ahead of pro golfer Tiger Woods. The daytime talk-show host ranked first in both the Web and TV indexes, and seventh in the press rank.

The top 10 is rounded out, in order, by Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Elton John, Tom Cruise, Jay-Z, and Steven Spielberg.

The cast of Grey's Anatomy was lumped together and finished in 12th, just ahead of shock-jock Howard Stern. Other television notables include David Letterman at 17, American Idol's Simon Cowell at 21, Jay Leno at 26, Dr. Phil at 30, the cast of Desperate Housewives at 47, Judge Judy Sheindlin at 59, Tyra Banks at 61, Ryan Seacrest at 76, Larry the Cable Guy at 81, J.J. Abrams at 85, Jeff Foxworthy at 92, and Heroes' Hayden Panettiere at 98.
