On January 3, 2005, Craig Ferguson became the newest face in late night television. That's when he took over The Late Late Show. Ferguson was selected from a number of guest hosts after previous host Craig Kilborn stepped down in August 2004. Many people might recognize Craig as "Nigel Wick", Drew... more »

Has anyone submitted and email and had Craig read it on air? If so what was in the email and what was his response? :)

Informal and warmly funny. hide « show »

Craig Ferguson is a great interviewer, because he is informal and therefore his guests seem comfortable. He is on track with projects his guests are doing and there to promote, but his segues into the absurd are usually outrageously funny. And they are so well timed and end up fitting despite seeming to come from left field sometimes...well, its just like sitting around with a friend and having some laughs.

And that's where the warmth comes in. Its the comfort zone; the seeming familiarity that makes his style and his show work for me. With most others, except maybe Conan by night and Ellen by day, the hype and the ratings-fever is almost tangible and it detracts from the point of the show: giving the viewer an update on their favourite performers, but in a sit-around-with-a-brewski kind of way.

    Love the guy!

Wind him up and let him go. hide « show »

I always knew that Craig Ferguson was an entertaining guest on other people's shows. But I really gained a lot of respect for him when he recalled fighting to have the "Late Late Show" run according to his ideas: Only guests that he has an interest in and a free form monologue reminiscent of Howard Beale in "Network." That may seem like a recipe for ego fed disaster, but it turns out Ferguson was right. Every night we get a show that feels fresh, because Ferguson is going to at least entertain himself and fortunately entertains us too. Also "Late Late" is an intimate show thanks to its small set, and because Craig has real conversations with his guests instead of setting them up for the next punchline because they have a project to plug. Whether he's swearing up a blue streak for effect, or expressing his dislike for the royal family, Craig doesn't take himself too seriously and reminds us to do the same.

Craig is the best, Hilarious, Wacky, Zanny, Intelligent, fun, Scottish, Cute, what more could a girl ask for. hide « show »

What I love about Craig is thhat he is Hilarious, wacky, and insane, and then sometimes when hes talking he sounds so smart, I never would have expected that from him. But hes great, and I'm always delightedly suprised. Another thing I like is that he is always honest, and trys to be himself no matter what anyone else will think, when you watch the show you feel like you know him. Plus he is so cute, and it always makes me smile when he flirts with his guests, sometimes he flirts with the camera. I watch his show everyday, even on the weekend with the tivo, my tivo is 100% filed with The Late Late Show. The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson is must see TV, even if you don't get to sleep until the start of the next day. The Late Late Show Rules!

Craig Ferguson is not just side splittingly funny he also manages to warm a viewers heart and regenerate their faith in America in a time where many of us have our doubts about where we are going and what it is we as a nation stand for... hide « show »

Whether it's chatting up a Z-list celebrity or greeting his cheeky wee monkeys Ferguson delivers side splitting dose of comedy capable (if not properly stretched before hand) of cramping up your jaw muscles solely on the amount of laughter he will cause in the fisrt few minutes. Laughter insues the minute the audience is greated by, as he has aptly nicknamed himself "TV's Craig Ferguson",his monologue is witty and fresh usually lasting twice if not three times as long as that of his fellow late night comics. It is truly impossible of truly describing Craig's monologue sure there may be similarities between monologues but each is it's own slice of pure comedy which the time it ends will leave you wanting more. Luckily for all there is at least ten more minutes of Ferguson at his best before the guests spoil the show. During this segment Craig will read a few e-mails (by the way you can e-mail Craig at CraigFerguson@google/world-internet.cbs), then he might put on a number of skit my personnal favorite being "The Rather Late Program with Prince Charles" needless to say it is hillarious. What makes Craig so refreshing however is his appreciation for this great nation, rather lost in today's media (excluding of course right wing nuts that think they love this nation) that only a newly sworn in citizen who immigrated from what Craig calls a hell hole (AKA Scotland) could bring. See, Craig can appreciate all that we take for granted so that when watching his show lots of times gut wrentching laughter will probably not be the only thing you feel, do not be surprised if he warms your heart as well.

Mr Ferguson,I'm a Jay Leno fan. Your humor is contagious and your show entertaining. Your rapport with your guests is wonderful and the way you present a film clip, is different - which is also fresh, nice. Sincerely, Pam, Savannah, Georgia hide « show »

    Mr Ferguson,
I'm a Jay Leno fan. Have been for years. I'm a 50+ person from South America.
Your humor is contagious and your show entertaining. Your rapport with your guests is wonderful and the way you present a film clip, is different - which is also fresh, nice - playing the clip before the person comes in. I enjoyed your "twin" sister! I love the way you flip the email sheets away from the camera.
I even allow my teenage daughter to watch you on a Friday. She thinks you are better than Leno... (FYI, she is 14, for your surveys.)
    Sincerely, Pam, Savannah, Georgia
