Before the broadcast, audience member Herbe Klumpe III, a resident of Late Night's Top Ten Home Office of Oneonta, NY, presents Dave with two blocks of smoked cheese. Dave dedicates the show to Klumpe, who is featured on camera 14 times and mentioned by Dave 34 times, and by guest Larry King once. Dave spends so much time obsessing over Mr. Klumpe that scheduled guest Cindy Crawford is bumped.

Paul becomes a dad as his wife Cathy gives birth to Victoria Lily Shaffer. After handing out cigars, Paul and the band commemorate the event by playing into the first commercial break The Kinks' "Victoria."
Biff grabs Al Roker from across the hallway to do an impromptu weather forecast; after Paul refuses to stop doing his Ed McMahon impression, Dave drags him to the NBC nurse.
Across the street at Simon and Schuster, Biff commemorates Spring by dropping flower petals out of Meg Parsont's office window.

The joke goes awry, however, when Dave introduces Bill Murray and the real Bill actually stands up and waves at the audience.

Dee Dee asks Dave if he's moving his upcoming CBS show to Los Angeles. Dave says no and admonishes her to get her facts right. Says Dee Dee: "Oh, we don't worry about that too much around here."
Upon noticing a despondent audience member, Bill Murray brings in the Reverend Al Sharpton to help console her.
Today on Paul's daytime talk show: Dave is confronted by Satan. Also, Leonard Cohen and the WMDB performs "Be For Real."
