  • If you pay attention to the nurses with the babies, behind Dr. Rush in the scene in which the detectives are questioning him about his affair with his sister-in-law, you can see that the scene was shot in a different order and spliced together. The Caucasian nurse is tending a baby who is laying down, when the camera returns, she is shown carrying the baby, and then she is shown picking the baby up, in that order. edit »

  • This is the first episode with Alicia Witt. She plays Det. Logan's new partner, Nola Falacci. edit »
  • Mike Logan: That was an old drinking buddy of mine down at the two-one. He says they called to the Rush's apartment about six months ago on a domestic dispute. Apparently the father and son were going at it during a Passover Sedar.
Danny Ross: I guess we know who didn't find the afikoman. (off looks from Logan and Falacci) It's like an Easter egg hunt with a matzoh. edit »
  • Dr. Eli Rush: If I gave something to every kid with my DNA, there'd be nothing left of me! edit »
  • (DNA evidence points to Eli Rush's son.)
Nola Falacci: Are you sure? He told us he couldn't have children!
Danny Ross: Falacci, two things we know. DNA doesn't lie, and Eli Rush does. edit »
  • Nola Falacci: Do you always make excuses for the people you work with?
Danny Ross: Detective, it's okay to have the thought, you don't always need to say it. edit »
  • Tom Pittino: Sometimes there are no easy answers; people get emotional.
Mike Logan: Do they get emotional, or do they get angry? edit »
  • This episode appears to be ripped from the headlines of the Dr. Cecil Jacobson case, a fertility doctor who was convicted in 1992 of inseminating over 75 of his female patients with his own sperm.

The story was ripe for ripping; in 1995, the original Law & Order series aired an episode that had a similar plot, was inspired by the same case, and had an almost identical title "Seed." edit »
  • Jason Rush (to Nola Falacci): Anything else you want to see, firecrotch?

"Firecrotch" was the crude and unflattering nickname that oil heir Brandon Davis gave to his ex-girlfriend, actress Lindsay Lohan. edit »

    The Bottom Line: "Average"

An okay Criminal Intent episode but a lack luster start for Logan and his new partner Falachi. The case meandered around way too much. With the question of who killed a doctor his ...Continue »
