  • Seven Part Deux and Good News about Season Eight

Season seven continues Sundays at 9:00 pm E/P (central, mountain and satellite users need to check their local listings) on June 8, 2008.

USA announced on May 23 that they'd ordered 16 episodes for season eight. Ratings for USA went up during the first part of season seven, and the show attracted new viewers. It's unclear whether the 8th season will be back in the fall or follow USAs normal off-season scheduling.

  • Casting news for season six ...

The show has added Nona Gaye, the daughter of musician Marvin Gaye and herself a respected musician, to the cast as A.D.A. Patricia Kent, and Julianne Nicholson as Det. Megan Wheeler. Gaye may be familiar to fans of the Matrix series of movies, as well as anyone who watched the xXx sequel with Ice Cube. Nicholson ... well, I like her, I always have, but she's starred in a lot of short-lived series, or at the very least, short-lived roles. Since 2000, she's done The Others, the last year of Ally McBeal, Presidio Med and (surprise, surprise) Conviction. Patricia Kent character is supposedly a determined single mother who wants to see justice done. Megan Wheeler is going to be Mike Logan's new partner, and a protege of the new captain. Hopefully they give Wheeler more of a backbone than they ever gave any of her other characters. She was always nice, but nice doesn't go too far on Criminal Intent -- or when partnered with Mike Logan. Eric Bogosian has officially been named as Jamey Sheridan's replacement on Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- his character is currently named Captain Danny Ross. Ross is a divorced New Yorker with a penchant for the city's history who is fresh off of three years working with a money laundering task force.
