ALLUSIONS

  • This case seems to be ripped from the headlines of the Eric Smith murder case. In 1993, Eric (then 13) killed 4 year-old Derrick Robie by choking and batterring him to death. Like Jake in this episode, Eric seemed to enjoy killing the boy and even went as far as to offer his "help" to the police, only to be caught when his story didn't support the facts. He was convicted of murder in the second degree. edit »
