Season 2 is looking great! hide show

I'll have to agree with the previous two reviewers, this was an exciting episode, with very impressive imagery, visual effects and direction. LOTS is looking better with each episode, and even though the series deviates from the books that isn't necessarily a bad thing. We can enjoy both for their own merit without having to compare them all the time. A TV show doesn't have to be a faithful reproduction of the books, it can choose to do so or not, the result may be as captivating with one choice as with the other.

I loved the scenes in the underworld, Craig Parker reappearing as a guest was a welcome surprise (hope we see more of him in future episodes too), and the whole presentation of souls desperately trying to regain their earthly life by committing murders for the Keeper was chilling. Especially the scenes with the almost zombified mother and the little kid, William who slaughtered the monk in the end. That was beautifully done, it gave me the goosebumps. Kara is a needed opposition to Kahlan's calm, serene character and her positive inclination. A little bit of ruthlessness and cynicism makes the mix more interesting, and it adds a new dynamic to Kahlan and Richard's relationship. Zedd is as great as always and the post-war situation is depicted realistically. Noone is the good guy, thieves, murderers and cheaters exist on both sides, as well as people who try to emerge above the general chaos by helping their fellow citizens or trying to bridge the gaps between D'Harans and resistance fighters. The team will have their hands full in reconciling so many opposites, appeasing the social tension and at the same time fighting the Keeper. Sounds fairly exciting!

a thrill nerve shattering episode about the underworld and what lies ahead in the world of the living. hide show

This episode has exceeded the opening of the second season. Action has been great and acting wise. Cinematography is at it's best, as usual. Makes you feel that you are really into what happening.

The story tell us about how dangerous the underworld is and what damage it can do to the world of the living. This episode indeed has full of surprises. Thou, questions arise why even those who seem to have done good still end up in the underworld. I am hoping this question shall be answered in the succeeding episodes. But other than that, a thrill ride season is very much expected. I find it funny that others still continue to compare the show to the book. What is there to anticipate when you already knew what's going to happen! Fairly speaking, this show is a lot better than others! Stop giving bad ratings to this high quality, very entertaining and a no-nonsense show .. Compare the show to other tv shows and not the book! You'll truly see it's real worth!

    intense! hide show

wow, this was even better than 201. Cara, the mord-sith, is a nice addition to the group. although she has that wicked past, she has a kind of innocence as well - as evidenced by her naive attempt at being compassionate to the guy who took the treasure. the Keeper is getting scarier and the depiction of the underworld is great. love that darken rahl is still with us. was kind of blown away by how darkly intense the fight scenes - way more than last season even i now feel like we are in a war. the only thing that is nagging at me is i don't understand why a good person like the abbot ended up in the keeper's clutches.

  • Cara: Our thief won't be going anywhere without us.
Richard: You brought him back without a scratch. How did you managed that?
    Cara: I have other methods.
    Richard: What kind of methods?
(Cara does not answer but smiles knowingly at Richard)
Richard: Well, however you did it--it's good work.
Cara: Did you expect anything less?
Richard: I'm just glad to have you on our side.
Cara: Maybe you can tell Zedd and Kahlan that they can stop sleeping with weapons under their pillows. (Walks away.) []
  • Cara: You shouldn't give [Eleanor] false hope.
Kahlan: It wasn't so long ago that you served the one who caused all this misery. At least try to show some compassion. []
  • Richard: Who else could bring the dead back to life?
    Zedd: The mord-sith.
Richard: Cara's with us now. Why would she come all this way to resurrect some D'Harans with the breath of life?
Zedd: She served Rahl and fought side-by-side with the D'Harans for years.
Richard: Cara helped me defeat Rahl. That should earn her some trust. (pauses) Whoever did this, however it happened, we have a big problem... How do you kill something that's already dead? []
