I agree is very disappointing follow-up episode to the cliffhanger in ep.7. The lady in the red dress storyline culminated perfectly in ep.7 and the "go to the basement" phone call (cliffhanger) shows the mystery of being back in 73' runs much deeper than the revelation of Sam's father's nature.
I liked that the dialog was punched up a bit, adding more humor was a good call too and giving the supporting cast more meat is a great move. Why does the gravity and seriousness of the series have to be sacrificed for these additions?!?
The show seems like it's taking a turn towards 70's nostalgic campyness forsaking the interesting, intricate, mystery revolving around Sam. They basically tossed a couple of mini-robot bones in this episode which did nothing to advance Sam's story.
Hopefully this is not yet another example of network suits getting involved to screw-up another quality show. I really hope the show gets back on track with Sam's mystery.
I really love this series, but what the heck happened to "Go to the basement Sam" ???? hide show
I really love this series, but what the heck happened to "Go to the basement Sam" ????
Are producers laughing about their viewers? The end mid season on such a cliffhanger, and then in next episode two month later, they pretend like nothing happened? Are You kidding me? The story line with boss daughter was fine.
Fight with russian mobsters was too comical, it was hard to watch without thinking "What a c*ap!"
I think they share to little time for the storyline where Sam is finding out why is he in 1973.
Seams like the first season could be the last :(
This was a great episode of Life on Mars. A really strong opening show after the hiatus for people who watch the show. I know a lot of people are afraid to start watching at this point because they think they have missed too much, but you haven't start watching the show! The characters are really developing nicely. It is also good to see same trying to embrace his situation, even if that always gets him in trouble in the ends. The show really used the other actors more this episode which I appreciated. I look forward to how the show will continue to develop. If this episode was any indication it will be a round for awhile.
