Beautiful, Texas born beauty who was known as the "Girl with the Perfect Face." Best years were in the 1940's when she appeared in such fims as Blood and Sand, Mark of Zorro, Song of Bernadette, A Letter to Three Wives, Hangover Square, and Forever Amber. Her career waned in the early 1950's along with many others when her contract was dropped by 20th Century Fox. Darnell spent the majority of her last dozen or so years doing stage and TV work appearing in such TV programs as Wagon Train, Burke's Law, and 77 Sunset Strip. She would die tragically as a result of burns suffered in a Chicago housefire where she had been staying at the home of a friend.
