A set of episodes with a Hawaiian theme were shot during production of season four. There is some blog board debate as to how many, 5 or 10. Regardless, GSN attached a promotion/sweepstakes event to them, but the sponsor backed out. Reportedly, a new sponsor was obtained, and the shows were to be run during season five. That was the last we heard about it, and they haven't aired. So watch carefully during rerun season, and we'll see if they sneak them in, or maybe have a marathon, with promotions sometime soon.
Edit: A winning contestant from one of those has repeatedly said there were ten, but since we have proof of 60 episodes from season four, and there should be 65, there were five. Anyway, the guy claims he got paid for winning via a check in November 2005, that included an episode production number, but no airdate. When he enquired he was told they would air in the spring at the start of season 5. (They were shot in June 2005). He also said that he talked with Shandi at another taping, and she thought they had been run. She obviously doesn't watch the show every night. Not only that, but other contestants have been shown one or two of those episodes while auditioning, so obviously they were edited for airing. The sponsor excuse doesn't make sense, since winners got paid, the tiki sets must have cost money, and Chuck, Shandi, and the crew must have been paid. What can they gain by not showing them? Next, that raises the possibility that the producers may not have liked something about them, so they canned them. Game show production companies often make more episodes than contracted, so anything is possible.
