Lisa Langlois was born in 1960 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, to a Scottish-Canadian mother and a French-Canadian father. She was the baby of the family, the 5th of 5 children; her 4 other siblings were all boys. Lisa attended school in Hamilton where she lived with her mother, and she spent her summers with her father in Montreal, where she became fluent in speaking French.
